The Hunter Skill is one of the more complicated non-combat skills in OSRS. It also offers thrilling adventures and goals. This is the newest skill in OSRS, and there are many creatures to hunt in a variety of locations around Gielinor.
Due to this, the best way to go from 1 to 99 and get the skill cape are not understood by many players. Luckily for you, we are back to share our OSRS Hunter’s Guide to 1-99 that will help you out. Follow these tips, and you should have no problem hitting 99 if you’re willing to wait.
What Do I Need to Get Started with This OSRS Hunter Guide?
Fairy Ring Transport (gained by the beginning of Fairy Tale II quest and strongly recommended)
The net is a small one for fishing.
Rope
Bird Snare
Box trap
Butterfly net & Butterfly jars
Level 1-9
You don’t need to explore further than The Varrock Museum and the Natural History Quiz to find the first levels. It’s doled out by Natural historians working in the museum. Speak with Orlando Smith to get started. Then, you’ll have to answer three questions on each demonstration correctly in order to pass.
This technique is not just enjoyable but is also simple if you have some trivia knowledge (or Google). It also gives you an Slayer experience, which is a wonderful benefit. Once you’ve finished all of the required questions, contact Orlando for a second time.
Alternate: Level 1-7
People who are anxious over tests or have trained Slayer already can start training Hunter by hunting Polar Kebbits. They’re located northeast of Rellekka around a Snowy Hunter area. One way to reach them is via the Camelot teleport or a Fairy Ring code. Use a Ring of Pursuit to speed your leveling, if you already have one.
Alternate: Level 7-15
Continuing from Polar Kebbits (or from the Varrock Museum quiz), you can now begin hunting Feldip Weasels. This is more efficient than hunting birds, as described by the level 9-15 guide. Get to the Feldip Hunter area by using the Ring of Dueling Castle Wars or a Gnome Glider.
Level 9-15
If you’re connected to the Fairy Ring transport system (you will definitely want it to develop this skill) you can use your code “akq” to get to the area of Piscatoris Hunter. There’s a chance to catch Copper longtails in this area until stage 15 and it’s very slow to start, but hang in there as it’s only six levels.
The 15 to 33 levels (or 37)
Return to a bank, swap your bird snares for butterfly nets and jars and then go back to Piscatoris. This time, you’re looking for the Ruby harvest butterfly spawn point. Place yourself next to it to take pictures of butterflies. There’s nothing more to it.
This can be a bit tedious however, so you can hold off the boredom by taking both butterflies as well as Copper Longtails. Although they’re both annoying, at least you’re not doing one boring thing at a time. It also increases your cumulative XP gain and also increases your XP gain.
Alternate: Level 33-37
If you’d like a new perspective, you could leave at 33 to begin catching Barb-tailed Kebbits. I would not recommend it, because you’ll be returning to Piscatoris in just a few levels anyway. It does however bring the stagnation to an end, so suit yourselves.
You can also help speed up this process by catching Crimson Swifts as well. This is more efficient than catching butterflies, and Copper Longtails up until level 37. You’re able to choose the method you’d prefer to use.
Level 37-59+
My personal favorite part of Hunter training Kebbits! The area you’re in is the area of Piscatoris throughout the 20 level, so make sure you bring the knife at least 1000 GP, and the chisel. That last one is for fletching Kebbit bolts (it’s optional but beneficial and easy) should you wish to earn some OSRS gold to use as a side.
It is also advisable to bring along a birds net, snare or butterfly snare and Jars, since Kebbits may be quite slow to catch. There are butterflies to be caught or copper longtails meantime. Don’t forget to take your handheld gear off!
Begin with Prickly Deadfall Traps, Kebbits as well. There’s nothing extraordinary about it. Once you’ve reached level 43, you’ll be able to begin trapping Spotted Kbbits with falcons. Be sure not to leave the Falconry, or you’ll have pay for your 500 GP again.
At 57, you’ll be able to at 57, you can add Dark Kebbits to your list of predators, which gives you a small an increase in the amount of exp you can earn per hour. This method is more efficient than catching salamanders any type, depending on where you are in the world. Personally, I prefer it than other methods and often find gamers to interact with, so it’s more fun as opposed to other techniques. If you’re interested, you could stick with it until you reach level 80 as I did.
Alternate: Level 59-80
Red salamanders can be a good alternative until level 67, however, they’re not my favourite due to a number of reasons. One reason is that Ourania Cave is difficult to access without any teleports. It is usually overcrowded due to salamanders. In addition, you’ll not get more experience than you could with other methods.
Furthermore, you can’t earn any gold from catching salamanders, and that requires the running of a lot. However certain players like the method. I’d be doing everyone a disservice if I didn’t mention it, at the very most.
Bring ropes and nets for Ourania Cave. If you aren’t able to find a better alternative, you could reach it with a teleport to the Khazard Battlefield. Set traps three or four at a time, depending on your skill level and level of focus. This technique could yield anything between 50,000- 100,000 experience points.
You’ll have an easier experience doing this if you wear the help of a Graceful Outfit. I’ve only used this a couple of times. mostly to discover what the buzz is about. I’ve had difficulty taking control of three traps simultaneously in this particular area. This method is left to men who are better (or woman) than I.
The Black Salamanders (starting from level 67) provide much higher rate of experience for less work. They’re found in the Wilderness, North of the Chaos Temple. Bringing a torch can slightly boost your level of exp per hour but you shouldn’t face problems with Player Killers. If you’re getting attacked, switch worlds a few times. Since you’re not carrying anything valuable (right? ) So, you shouldn’t be facing any major problems with these areas.
Level 80-99
Red Chinchompas are the best way to go if you’re looking to make some great money and not have difficulties doing so. Most players are aware that Chinchompas are among the greatest allures of the Hunter talent due to their incredible value to Ranged trainers , as well as the high value they bring to the market.
For the best results from this method, you will want to complete this Hard Western Provinces Diary tasks in order to get access to your Red Chinchompa hunting grounds. With a bit of world-hopping and a bit of world-hopping, you will be able to locate a few unpopulated worlds and make the most of your time.
It will be slow going because of the high-level skills training can be, but you’ll start to see profits that are high right away. I hope that it will inspire you onward!
Alternates: Level 80-99
It is also possible to track Herbiboars on Fossil Island at level 80. It is required that the player complete their Bone Voyage quest, but it is possible to earn 150,000 Hunter XP per hour. That’s an estimate since the actual rate could be higher or lower depending on your clicks. This method also gives you Herblore XP. So this is a nice bonus even if you haven’t begun training it yet. Additionally, you can acquire the Herbi pet with this method.
Another option is to capture Maniacal monkeys. This is an AFK method and, if you’re not into click-intensive ones it’s a great training process, though slower. There’s little gold to earn through this method, too. Monkey Tails will be the main source of GP, and its drops are a uncommon 1 in 5000 chance.
Alternate: 73-99
There are Black Chinchompas to be found in the Wilderness with a little risk. Naturally, as many players are gathered there, it’s become a PK hotspot. However, if you risk using this method, it’s one of the best methods of earning gold via Hunter. Start to catch them around level 73 and continuing it up to 99 can make approximately 125 million OSRS gold. Still, training using Red Chinchompas is more stable and reliable.
Alternate: 5-99
It is also possible to do Birdhouse runs to level up Hunter until 99. It’ll take longer but you’ll have enough time to concentrate on other skills or tasks. Set an alarm so you know when to get your birdhouses replaced. It’s possible to make decent income from this method as well.
Wrap-Up
If you follow this OSRS Hunter Guide tips, the skill cape will be yours soon enough! Choose the method that fits your personal style, no matter if it’s fastest or the most profitable. This is the perfect moment to test your skills! Set out to make something happen.
