Ben Underwood (1992-2009) foi um garoto que desenvolveu a incr&iacute;vel capacidade de ser um ecolocalizador. Essa hist&oacute;ria come&ccedil;ou quando Ben, aos 3 anos, precisou retirar seus dois olhos por causa de um c&acirc;ncer nas retinas, o mesmo que acabou matando-o aos 16 anos. Durante sua vida, o norte-americano acabou desenvolvendo a habilidade de distinguir a localiza&ccedil;&atilde;o de objetos e obst&aacute;culos em qualquer cen&aacute;rio a partir de estalos produzidos por sua boca.<\/div>\n<div>\n\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n\tO sistema, parecido com o sonar dos morcegos, era simples e ao mesmo tempo hiper complexo de se desenvolver: Ben fazia estalos com sua boca, que batiam em nos objetos do ambiente ao seu redor e voltavam para seu ouvido localizando tudo que estava ao seu redor.
